Welcome to the True North Astrology!
Every morning, one short read on where the sky is and how to use it. We are so glad you are here. Let us begin where the light is headed.
Today the Sun enters Leo, and the sky turns up the warmth. Here is what it brings, and what to watch for.

For the last month, the Sun moved through Cancer and the mood was soft and inward: home, feelings, rest, the people who feel like family. Today that chapter closes. The Sun strides into Leo, and everything turns outward, brighter, and a little braver.
Leo is the sign of the heart. It rules confidence, creativity, play, and the simple courage to be seen. Where Cancer protected, Leo declares. For roughly the next four weeks, until August 22, the invitation is the same for all of us: stop shrinking, and take up a little more space.
And this year the Sun does not arrive alone. Jupiter, the sky's luckiest planet, has been touring Leo since late June, so the Sun lands right beside it. Confidence gets luckier. Risks land softer. Generosity comes back multiplied. A total solar eclipse follows in Leo on August 12, so treat these first weeks as the runway.
The bright side: confidence, visibility, and creative courage
At its best, Leo season tends to bring:
Creative momentum. The fear that keeps a project half finished loosens its grip. This is a strong month to actually start the thing.
Warmer romance. Flirtation, generosity, and grand gestures come easier, for better and occasionally for worse.
Natural generosity. Leo gives from a full cup. You may find yourself sharing credit, hosting, or showing up loudly for the people you love.
Leadership. At work or at home, people may look to you to take the lead this season.
Visibility. Good energy for anything public: posting more, refreshing a portfolio, launching the thing you have been sitting on.
Play. Leo rules joy for its own sake, not joy as a reward for finishing your chores.
The flip side: where that same fire can burn
The gifts and the pitfalls share one source, so watch for:
Drama and ego. The fire that fuels confidence can tip into needing to be right, or needing the spotlight. Ask whether you want attention or connection, then choose connection.
Overspending. Generosity is Leo's superpower and its tax. Decide your fun money number before the grand gesture calls.
Pride that hardens. Leo can struggle to say sorry or admit it is hurt. Softness is not weakness this season.
Performing for applause. Late this week the South Node moves into Leo, pointing at exactly this: release the old need to prove, and create because you want to, not to be seen doing it.
Burning too hot. All that fire can scorch. Pace the passion so it lasts the month.
So take up space, but lead with warmth rather than volume. That is Leo at its best.
Keep looking up. The universe always has something to say.
